Our History
From humble beginnings in 1999, our company was established at the Port Area of Mesaieed Industrial City – MIC with a vision to operate a world-class lubricants and specialty chemicals business in Qatar. Over the years, this vision transformed into a reality through continuous investment, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
The early 2000s marked our expansion into exports and the development of advanced storage facilities, laying a strong foundation for growth. By 2007, we rebranded as QALCO, symbolizing a new era of modernization and global outlook, and with certifications to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 we demonstrated our focus on safety, quality, and environmental responsibility. The following decade brought major milestones, including the launch of packaging and grease manufacturing facilities, global affiliations, and a joint venture to expand chemical blending capabilities, while our membership with international bodies like NLGI and certifications such as SASO further strengthened our global standing. Strategic partnerships with industry leaders, including Toyota and ENEOS, highlighted our reputation as a trusted regional manufacturer, and continuous upgrades in certifications – ISO 45001 for safety, ISO 17025 for laboratory excellence, and others, reinforced our technical edge and customer confidence.
Today, as we move forward under the new identity of QALCO Energy®, we stand proudly as Qatar’s first lubricants blending company with a global footprint. Our history is not just a timeline of achievements but a reflection of resilience, innovation, and the trust we’ve built with our partners across industries and geographies.
